Mikhail Yakovlev is a top Russian Omaha player and a well-known streamer. His main specialization is cash games and Omaha tournaments. He was a member of the Omaha Squad team.
Minthon began playing in 2008, starting with No-Limit Texas Hold'em. However, 3-4 years later, he moved up to PLO-200 stakes. Four years after that, he discovered MTT Omaha.
According to Yakovlev, until recently, this couldn't be called the most rational and deliberate choice: the tournament grid at $50+ stakes wasn't very saturated. However, the situation has significantly improved over the last couple of years, largely thanks to PokerOK. Even on weekdays, Mikhail has an impressive MTT load of $1,000-$2,500 tournaments and can play full 6-9 hour sessions. Currently, he has over 30,000 subscribers on YouTube, 33,000 on his Twitch channel, and more than 13,000 active followers on Telegram.
Mikhail's largest win was $124,776 in the GGMasters High Rollers $1,050 tournament. In 2024, he won the GGBattle — an exclusive tournament among PokerOK ambassadors and friends.
Minthon became the third member of the room's ambassador team in 2021.
