Mikhail Yakovlev (Minthon) is a top Russian Omaha player and one of the most well-known Russian-speaking poker streamers. His main specialization is cash games and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments. He was previously part of the Omaha Squad team.
Since 2021, Mikhail has been an ambassador of the PokerOK room.
Minthon began playing poker in 2008 with No-Limit Texas Hold’em. After just 4 years, he confidently established himself at the PLO-200 cash game level. A few years later, Mikhail gradually shifted his focus toward MTT Omaha, where he eventually became one of the most consistent high-stakes players.
According to Yakovlev, for a long time Omaha MTTs were difficult to consider a rational direction due to the limited tournament schedule with buy-ins of $50+. However, in recent years the situation has changed significantly thanks to the development of Omaha on PokerOK.
Mikhail regularly puts together an MTT schedule in the $1,000–$2,500 range and plays full sessions lasting 6–9 hours even on weekdays.
Yakovlev consistently participates in major online series and frequently reaches final tables in PLO and PLO Hi-Lo tournaments.
