The fifth Day 1 of the World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event No-Limit Hold’em World Championship has come and gone, with an additional 797 players putting down $10K and going into battle on the most prestigious stage in poker for the biggest title of them all!
This means that through five 2021 starting days, a combined 5,315 players have taken to the felt, and with an additional starting day to come, plus the opportunity for players to buy in at the start of the Day 2s, we’re still waiting to see how this year’s WSOP Main Event will stack up attendance-wise compared to previous years. The most recent live WSOP Main Event, in 2019, saw a total of 8,569 compete, while the biggest WSOP Main Event ever, way back in 2006, saw 8,773 participate.
When Day 1E ended, 592 players had survived – but unfortunately, GGPoker’s Daniel Negreanu was not among them, having run his Kings into Aces earlier in the day.
Of 10 GGPoker players ponying up in Day 1E, 6 have made it to Day 2 – well done all!
Here’s a list of the surviving players’ chip counts:
Koki Kudo – 168,500
Erick Sarkis – 157,700
Vasu Amarapu – 139,100
Harijs Broza – 84,000
Frank Dedato – 41,000
Benjamin Harrison – 39,300
We’ll continue to track all GGPoker players over the coming days, and we hope to see our community make some very deep runs, ensuring WSOP 2021 will be one to remember forever!
