WSOP Online Bracelet Series 2021
WSOP Online Series 2021
In 2021, GGPoker and the World Series of Poker (WSOP) once again joined forces to offer non-US based online poker players a chance to win WSOP gold bracelets. The online tournament series awarded 33 gold bracelets from August 1 through September 12, 2021.
Among those to win gold bracelets during the GGPoker’s WSOP Online Series 2021 were Kacper Pyzara, Daniel Smiljkovic, Renan Bruschi, Samuel Vousden, Alexandros Theologis, Dmitry Yurasov, David “ZONEDin” Jackson, Alexandru Papazian, and Arnaud Enselme.
The series kicked off in a big way as Event #1: $50 The Return NLH attracted a massive 30,810 entrants, which surpassed the $1 million guarantee by creating a $1,417,260 prize pool. Poland’s Bartlomiej “chester20o” Swieboda won that tournament for $161,111.
However, it was not the first bracelet awarded as Event #2: $1,111 Caesars Cares Charity Event finished first. Brazil’s Joãa Simao topped a field of 1,584 entries to win that tournament, which raised $175,824 for charity, to claim his first bracelet and $206,075 in prize money.
In Event #6: $200 Flip & Go, which drew 6,368 entries and offered up a $1,209,920 prize pool, Greece’s Georgios Sotiropoulos reigned supreme to capture his second career bracelet and a $117,022 top prize.
One of the biggest stories to come out of the series was that of Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel besting a 624-entry field to win Event #11: $10,000 Super MILLION$ High Roller for $977,842 and his ninth career bracelet. It had been 14 years since Seidel’s last bracelet, and with his ninth he tied the legendary Johnny Moss on the all-time bracelet list.
France’s Arthur Conan was victorious in Event #15: $10,000 Heads-Up NLHE Championship, which began with 161 players. The Frenchman won his first bracelet and earned $466,167, which put him over the $2 million mark in earnings at GGPoker.
Another first-time winner was well-known Polish player Dominik Panka, who topped a 1,064-entry field to win Event #28: $2,100 NLH Bounty Championship for $185,229.
The series culminated with Event #27: $5,000 Main Event Online Championship, which attracted 4,092 entries. The total prize pool generated fell just shy of reaching the $20,000,000 guarantee, which meant players got the benefit of a $563,000 overlay.
Coming into the final day, Brazil’s Edson “CrownUpTsu” Tsutsumi Jr was the chip leader followed by Aleksei “Ha KojleHu” Vandyshev. Naturally, the battle for the title came down to those two in heads-up play, with the latter emerging victorious to claim the bracelet and $2,543,073 first-place prize.
