The microMILLION$ – Week 1

The first week of the microMILLION$ has been completed and it was most assuredly not micro. With 11 tournaments everyday Monday through Saturday and 19 on Sunday, an absolute ton of micro stakes poker tournaments were played. Through the week there was just under $1,250,000 in guarantees offered and by the end, players had won over $1,850,000. With nearly 100 tournaments being completed over the course of the week, there is a lot to review; however, for the sake of brevity, we will only look at the biggest micro tournaments on each day, the $5.25 Bounty Hunters Mini Main, the $10 Daily Main Event and the $7.77 LUCKY SEVENS Superstack Turbo (7-max) with guarantees of at least $25,000, $25,000 and $15000 respectively. 

Monday

The $5.25 Bounty Hunters Mini Main on Monday June 21st was played host to 7,662 players creating a prize pool of $38,310. The tournament, which lasted almost 9 hours, was won by ‘Raymonddg’ who also earned the most in bounties.

The $10 Daily Main Event saw 4,733 players buy-in to the $25K guaranteed tournament creating a prize pool of $43,543.60. The tournament took just over 9 hours to play saw ‘DALET’ claim the victory and $4,790.19 over ‘Keva1991’ who earned $3,566.56 for second place. 

Monday’s $7.77 LUCKY SEVENS tournament played through with 2,940 players entering the event and creating a prize pool of $21,021. Player ‘istlen’ ended with the victory in the event, but it was ‘SaBoFrEak’ that took home the biggest portion of the prize pool after a 5-way chop at the final table.

Tuesday

 

On Tuesday, the $5.25 Bounty Hunters Mini Main saw 7,899 players register which created a prize pool of $39,495. The tournament, which lasted just over 9 hours, was won by ‘R-K-K’ for a total of $2,645.40 including bounties, after a chop with second place ‘Ysibrinca’

 

Tuesday’s $10 Daily Main Event drew 4,979 players to the tournament, creating a prize pool of $45,806.80. The tournament played to completion in under 9 hours and concluded without a final table deal. When the last hand finished, it was ‘QSJplease’ that took ownership of the championship $4,971.07 while ‘flo_1987’ finished second for $3,724.97. 

 

The $7.77 LUCKY SEVENS tournament on Tuesday attracted 3,180 players making a prize pool of $22,737. After nearly 6 hours of play, it was ‘Smaki11’ who took top prize worth $2,747.98 over second place finisher ‘OTaPaTaMaR’.

Wednesday

Wednesday’s $5.25 Bounty Hunters Mini Main showed slight drop off in players with 7,423 registering for the tournament creating a prize pool of $37,115. Taking under 8.5 hours to complete, the tournament was won by ‘BornToSP’ after a 3-way chop with ‘RAPHAJOGAND’ and ‘Evgeny1990RUS’.

The $10 Daily Main Event also had a slight drop in the number of players with only 4,630 registering. The $42,596 prize pool still exceeded the guarantee by more than 20%. While the reduced number of players did decrease the prize pool, the length of time to play did not. It took over 10 hours for ‘PinballWizard’ to finally knockout ‘CK4T’ and earn $4,691.96, 

Wednesday’s $7.77 LUCKY SEVENS tournament compelled 3,018 players to enter creating a prize pool of $21,578.70. Taking nearly 6.5 hours of play, it was ‘jduece15’ who took the top prize worth $2,393.50 over ‘Maick Marcedo’ and ‘Fishscalebobby’ after a 3-way final table chop.

Thursday

Thursday saw the biggest drop of the series thus far with registrations down to 6,781, 4,290 and 2,813 for the $5.25 Bounty Hunters Mini Main, $10 Daily Main Event and the $7.77 LUCKY SEVENS respectively. All three tournaments still generated very healthy prize pools considering the micro-sized buy-ins

The Bounty Hunters Mini Main, which had a total prize pool of $33,905, was won by ‘0utsider_’, who took home $2,507.34 for hers or his efforts after nearly 8.5 hours.

The $10 Daily Main Event, which took almost 9 hours to complete, was ‘Rheagnes’ take the top prize of $4,381.21 of the $39,468 total prize pool, almost $1,100 more than ‘AntiReG’ in second. 

Thursday’s $7.77 LUCKY SEVENS tournament had players competing for a share of the $20,112.95 prize pool. At the end, it was ‘hidde429’ defeating ‘AlexanderLS’ for a $2,469.55 payday.

Friday

The first full weekend of the microMILLION$ arrived and you, the incredible poker community, came out to play. Friday’s $5.25 Bounty Hunters Mini Main had 7,411 players register for the $35,000 guarantee. It took less than 8.5 hours for ‘Aleks Shepel’ to take down the event for $3,271.73 including over $1,700 in collected bounties. 

The Friday $10 Daily Main Event had a total of 4,213 players register to create the $38,759.60 prize pool. It took 8.5 hours and a 4-way chop at the final table to complete as ‘Anton Zhupan’ claimed the victory and $3,335.24. 

The final big event of Friday’s microMILLION$, the $7.77 LUCKY SEVENS tournament had 2,929 players competing for a share of the $20,942.35 prize pool. The tournament finally ended after 7 hours of play with ‘BonnieAK’ taking the victory and $2,532.16 over ‘TheBe4tles’.

Saturday

Saturday’s $5.25 Bounty Hunters Mini Main attracted 7,611 players for the tournament and created a prize pool of $38,055. It took 8.5 hours for ‘HCPOKER’ to finally take out the last of the competition, earning $2,901.06 in the process. 

Saturday’s $10 Daily Main Event, which was the smallest of the Daily Main Events to this point in the series, still managed to attract $3,943 players creating a prize pool of $36,275.60. The top prize of $3,703.34 was eventually, after 9.25 hours, won by ‘dbite10’ after a 3-way final table chop with ‘Modest36’ and ‘vtrgd’. 

The Saturday edition of the $7.77 LUCKY SEVENS saw 2,773 players make their way to the tournament creating a prize pool of $19,826.95. It took just short of 6.75 hours of play for ‘SorryForLove’ to beat out ‘RiverRat1978’ and the $2,435.60 top prize.

Sunday

Sunday marked the beginning of the 2nd week of the microMILLION$ online poker tournament series and certainly met all expectations. With the biggest buy-in for the series set at $11 and 19 tournaments to select, players had their choice of game. 

The Sunday schedule for the microMILLION$ offered 5 events with a guarantee of at least 50K, the first of which was the $10.50 Bounty Hunters Sunday Special. This $60,000 guaranteed tournament attracted 7,599 players creating a prize pool of $75,990. It took just over 9.25 hours for ‘8aza8’ to claim victory in this event and $5,362.39 including $2,185.06 in bounties. Quite the return on a $10.50 investment.

The next big online poker tournament was the $8.40 Sunday Bounty Special. Offering $50,000 in guarantees, this tournament had 7,184 players sign up for what was a 7.5 hour brawl. At the end it was ‘shatoba888’ who claimed victory and earned $4,709.84 for the effort.

The $5.25 Bounty Hunters Sunday Main was the 3rd tournament of the day with a guarantee of at least $50,000. The low $5.25 buy-in caught the attention of 11,464 players and created a prize pool of $57,320. After 9 hours 10 minutes of play, it was ‘Burarama’ taking home the victory and $3,626.99 in prize money.

The biggest event of the day, the $11 Sunday Super Storm, was the next big one on the microMILLION$ schedule. The $11 buy-in was priced so well that 15,695 players bought in to vie for the title over the nearly 11 hours it took to run. In the end, ‘pardgeorgios’ was the last player standing, having defeated ‘Yosemite Sam’ and taking the top prize of $13,421.53.

The last of the $50K+ events on Sunday was the $10,50 Bounty Hunters Sunday Special. The 6,347 entrants created a total prize pool of $63,470. The tournament ended 8 hours and 41 minutes later when ‘danfield3’ eliminated ‘Odissea’ to take the top prize of$2,718.24 plus an additional $2,169.56 in bounties.

The Wrap Up

The first full week of the microMILLION$ is now completed and it has been anything but micro. Guarantees being broken all the time, mega-sized prize pools for the micro-sized buy-ins.
